Led by Jake Anderson and Illinois bound Brandon Paul, the Warren Blue Devils of Gurnee,Illinois, defeated Niles Notre Dame 66-55 to win the 40 team Hoop Mountain Midwest 2008 Summer Shootout held at West Aurora High School, Aurora, Illinois, June13 and 14.
Anderson scored 20 points for Warren in the championship game follwed by Paul who had 17.
Warren nipped Morton of Berwyn-Cicero 74-71 in the Final Four contest on a 3 point basket at the buzzer in spite of Morton's Joe Belcaster who poured in 28 points. Niles Notre Dame slipped by Neuqua Valley 75-72 in overtime during their Final Four game.
