Spending Money:
Use your own judgment. For the camper’s protection, we have a program that lets you leave your cash secured at the office, and we arrange a “charge account” for all items purchased (Most campers deposit $20-$50). There will be a snack bar open at the camp as well as T-shirt sales. In addition, many campers like to order pizza to be delivered after the evening camp session. Any unused funds will be returned at check-out.
Charges for a session use of the Noah Select System can be charged against the snack account. So you may want to deposit an extra amount if you intend to sign up for the Noah and have not optionally prepaid for Noah sessions. Noah sessions are optional.
The pre-payment option for Noah sessions provides for a discount and all sessions must be used.
Suggested Clothing, Linen and Toiletries:
- 3 Day Camps: 3 pairs sweat socks, 1 pair basketball shoes, 3 pairs shorts, 2-3 T-shirts, 1 towel, 1 washcloth, soap, 1 blanket, 2 sheets (extra long, 80" beds),
1 pillowcase, swimming suit, toiletries, and an alarm clock. Some campers bring along a sleeping bag.
- 4 Day Camps: 1 pair basketball shoes, 4-5 pairs shorts, 4-5 T-shirts, 4-5 pairs of sweat socks, 2-3 towels, 1 washcloth, soap, 1 blanket, 2 sheets (extra long, 80" beds), 1 pillowcase, toiletries, and an alarm clock.
There are quarter operated washers and dryers in the dormitory.
Room Keys: Room keys will be handed out at check-in. There is no key deposit, but there is a $135 charge if a key is lost. There is also a $5.00 per occurrence lock-out fee. These fees are assessed by Illinois Wesyelan which we pass-thru to the camper.
Room Assignments: Room assignments will be listed at the registration table. We make every effort to take care of all cases in which campers have requested a particular roommate. If you would like a particular roommate and have not so indicated, please contact us at 630.539.2100, or e-mail (ERoss@hoopmountain.com)
Telephones: There are no telephones provided in the dorm rooms. However, there are pay phones scattered around the campus that take debit or credit cards, as well as collect calls. In addition, we will have a bulletin board at the gym to post messages. In case of an emergency, parents may reach their son by dialing the University Security Department at 309.556.1111. The Shirk Center number is 309.556.3196. Be sure you have the dorm name and room number. Munsell Hall may be reached at 309.556.1000. Some campers bring along cell phones. However, they are not allowed outside of the camper's room.
Insurance: : Important! We strongly suggest that the “Hoop Mountain Insurance and Medical History Information Form” be on file with us. Forms will be e-mailed to each camper after registration. We prefer that they are mailed by post or e-mailed back to us, but they can alternatively be brought to camp and provided to us at check-in time. We do not require the forms to be completed. However, you are urged to return these important medical forms to us. In the case of a medical emergency, we do not want medical attention to be delayed because the camper’s medical history is not immediately available to medical staff. It is your responsibility to provide us with this information. If the forms are not received beforehand or brought to camp, campers /parents will be requested to provide minimal emergency contact/medical information at check-in. If you have not received these forms, please call 630.539.2100. We provide supplemental insurance for you at no charge.
Air Conditioning: The dorm rooms, lobby areas, and cafeteria are air conditioned as are the performance gym and practice gym, if needed.. The other 4 gyms are not, but they do have industrial size blowers that provide air circulation.
Parents Attending Camp Sessions: We welcome parents to sit-in and observe camp sessions. However, please do not attempt to communicate with your son during the sessions except during breaks. He will be quite busy most of the time. Proper identification is required to enter the gym. The morning of the final day of each camp is devoted to league championship games, All-Star games, award presentations, etc. It is an excellent time for parents to visit the camps.

Our coaches stay in the same dormitory as the players. (Our ratio is 1 coach per 10 player.) In addition, we have a group of counselors on site, plus the IWU security staff is just several minutes away.
During the actual camp, outsiders are not allowed to enter the premises. Players, coaches, parents, player siblings, college scouts and Hoop Mountain and IWU staff have access to the gyms with proper identification.
Other security matters are listed in the Rules & Regulations form.
ATM: There is an ATM located at the Memorial Student Center.
Trainer: A certified trainer is on duty during the entire time the campers are in the gyms.
