Hoop Mountain Midwest,
“The #1 Instructional Basketball
Camp in the Midwest!”

“Here is why no one does it better than Hoop Mountain Midwest!”

GORDIE KERKMAN:
Head Coach, West Aurora High School and Head Coach, Hoop

Top-Notch Athletes:

Hoop Mountain Midwest attracts better athletes than many other camps. That's because we target good players who are coachable and are passionate about playing basketball. We cannot make a poor player a great player in three or four days. But we certainly can help him learn a lot of basic to advanced skills that can assist him in making major strides in the future.
For those players who are blessed with above average to superior athletic ability and love to be challenged, there is no limit to what they can learn. Examples of this include former Hoop Mountain Midwest players who recently have earned full scholarships to D-1 colleges:

  • Sam Maniscalco, St. Pat's H.S./Chicago/Bradley/Illinois
  • Nick Fruendt, Batavia H.S./Northwestern
  • Andre Walker, Homewood-Flossmoor H.S./Flossmoor, IL/Vanderbilt
  • Luke Fabrizius, Hersey H.S./Arlington Heights, IL/Dayton
  • Mike DiNunno, Von Steuben H.S./Chicago/Northern Illinois

We cannot promise that you will get a scholarship to a D-1 school if you attend one of our camps. But we will promise that if you are passionate about basketball, are willing to work hard, and are open to coaching suggestions that may be new to you, there is an excellent chance of your moving to a new, higher skill level.

Walker complexSuper Facilities:

Hoop Mountain Midwest has held its summer instructional basketball camps in the Shirk Center at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL, for the past nine years. However, the four courts in the field house will be closed during June and July of this coming summer (2011) in order for the present floors to be replaced with new, deluxe hardwood floors.
Therefore, we will have our 2011 camps at the Walker Athletic Complex in Lisle, IL, a suburb about 20 miles south west of downtown Chicago next to Naperville.
The Walker complex is a new impressive 100,000 square foot facility. It has four basketball courts with hardwood floors, plus volleyball courts, baseball and softball batting cages and a huge fully equipped fitness center.
For housing we have signed a contract with the Hyatt House Hotel that is only 1.7 miles from the Walker Athletic Complex. Two, three or four campers (three or four upon request only) will share one deluxe executive type room that has all of the amenities you would expect to find in a 4-Star hotel room. The room includes a wide screen TV, private bathroom, two beds and a convertible couch. The hotel is located in a safe, quiet, modern office complex.
All campers, coaches, and staff will stay at the Hyatt House and will be transported to and from Walker Athletic by First Student school buses.
