Hoop Mountain Midwest,
“The #1 Instructional Basketball
Camp in the Midwest!”

“Here is why no one does it better than Hoop Mountain Midwest!”

GORDIE KERKMAN:
Head Coach, West Aurora High School and Head Coach, Hoop

Top-Notch Athletes:

Hoop Mountain Midwest attracts better athletes than many other camps. That's because we target good players who are coachable and are passionate about playing basketball. We cannot make a poor player a great player in three or four days. But we certainly can help him learn a lot of basic to advanced skills that can assist him in making major strides in the future.
For those players who are blessed with above average to superior athletic ability and love to be challenged, there is no limit to what they can learn. Examples of this include former Hoop Mountain Midwest players who recently have earned full scholarships to D-1 colleges:

  • Sam Maniscalco, St. Pat's H.S./Chicago/Bradley
  • Nick Fruendt, Batavia H.S./Batavia IL/Northwestern
  • Andre Walker, Homewood-Flossmoor H.S./Flossmoor, IL/Vanderbilt
  • Luke Fabrizius, Hersey H.S./Arlington Heights, IL/Dayton
  • Mike DiNunno, Von Steuben H.S./Chicago/Northern Illinois

We cannot promise that you will get a scholarship to a D-1 school if you attend one of our camps. But we will promise that if you are passionate about basketball, are willing to work hard, and are open to coaching suggestions that may be new to you, there is an excellent chance of your moving to a new, higher skill level.

Super Facilities:

For the eighth consecutive year, our 2010 summer camps will be held at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. The university's campus is conveniently located near I-55. It is about a 130 mile drive from Chicago, 160 miles from St. Louis, or 160 miles from Indianapolis via I-74.
During your stay, you will be housed in one of the university's modern dorms where you will share an air conditioned room with one other camper. Please note that all dorm facilities will be supervised by adult monitors, counselors, and coaches.
Campers will be offered a wide variety of flavorful, nutritious, all-you-can-eat meals served buffet style in the university's cafeteria by the catering division of Marriott Hotels.
Your training sessions will be held at the state-of-the-art Shirk Center. The center features seven full-size, indoor basketball courts, fitness center, and athletic training facilities.
